Sweatresistant phone armband for running

Hi there

I usually just carry a cheap mp3 player when running, but since having got spotify premium I am starting to take my Galaxy S3 with me. I usually put it in the pocket of my gilet, but since the weather is getting warmer/drier, I will (hopefully) not be using it as much and don't have large enough pockets in my shorts/tights.

Sooo.. not very mse, but price is not an worry - as long as it under £30! - my phone is too expensive to fry with sweat!! What do you all use and recommend?

Cheers

Anything that fits both your phone and your arm really. A Galaxy S3 is quite big, so that'll limit your choice. Also, some armbands are much more adjustable than others so you might find that some don't fit your arm.

Apart from that, having a clear plastic front is good because then you can use your phone without taking it out of the armband.

I think they're all made of neoprene, so I doubt there's much difference between one armband and another for sweat resistance. I normally carry an Oyster card and/or credit card tucked behind my phone, so I suppose that provides an extra layer of sweat protection for the phone.

I have seen quite a few models that fit the S3: yurbuds, arkon, armpocket, sporteer - they all get such polar views on amazon - loving or hating them. I think I have fairly average sized arms for a female, but I do sweat copiously, so i am concerned about water-resistance - plus in Scotland there is always the risk of an unexpected shower!!

    What do you use?

Tune Belt, but it isn't for a Galaxy. I also have an unbranded one from eBay which fits around my thigh and was obviously made for giant muscley men only :(

Any chance you still have the link for the eBay one? I am built like a brick and still carrying a bit of fat so it might be good for me :rotfl:

Oh you can get tune belts for the Galaxy - they were one of the ones I'm looking at - would you recommend it? Sorry for the questions - I just don't want to fork out for several relatively but useless products!!

Yeah, it's fine. No problems with it. It's comfortable, no signs of wear after a couple of years, does what it says on the tin really.

Just a heads-up that Aldi will have a phone armband from this coming Thursday: £12.99. Says it's waterproof to 6 metres, although not sure I'd test it to confirm..

I once had a very small and cheap Nokia ordinary phone which I tucked down in my sports bra: not a good idea as the damp made it play up.. It did make a recovery though..:D

ooo might hold out to wait for that!

I had a similar experience with a sansa clip player - had it strapped to my sports bra but just at the top of the bra - nowhere really sweaty it was an enell one so more like a crop top. I literally fried mine - i think it was the salt from the sweat rather than the moisture. It wasn't actually touching skin really - but the noise of it frying almost did deafen me!!

Don't think I will be trying that one with my phone. Mind you even if I wanted to, the enell sports bras are so tight that i don't think I could get anything nearly the size of the phone down it!!
