As the titles says. My local council are going full on to encourage women to take up a sport.I have never been to a gym but the look of Pilloxing appealed to me.It's a mash up of Pilates and Boxing.
Has anyone done it,if so,how did it go? Is it fun, worth it ,if not why.I lack motivation so if I know a bit about it I may be more keen to go.

Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.

I know a couple of people who have done the piloxing training, one of the gyms in the chain Im a member of does it, but Ive not got around to doing a class yet. To be honest Im very much of the view, give anything a go and see if you like it or not, better than sitting on the couch.
Classes I like are body attack, thump boxing, kettlebells, les mills grit, spin
Classes I dont like are body pump, combat, body balance
But I tried as many as I could to see what was for me or what wasnt for me.0 -
Looks like an ideal exercise for those who like to look ridiculous.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
I look ridiculous in a lot of classes I do I would imagine.
I probably look ridiculous when I'm teaching some as well.
If it gets people off their backside and into exercise why not?
I know people who started with classes such as Zumba and now do more high intensity stuff. These kinds of classes can often be what people use to build their fitness.
I've also done my fit steps training but don't teach it as it wasn't for me but other people love it.0 -

Not sure about the boxing element but it seems to have a lot of dance based moves. I imagine that (balance issues aside) most of these movements would be within the ability of most people, but within a couple of repetitions they'd all be feeling the pain! I guess that's the pilates part, which I understand is about small movements but the effort comes from the control and repetition0
