Calculating Gilt return on capital and coupon
Recently retired and wanting to invest some new capital into gilts. This is to minimise future tax on savings/stocks. After doing some research, I like the idea of purchasing individual gilts. To minimise possible savings tax, I'm considering buying discounted gilts with lower coupons (eg TG26). I'd appreciate a sanity…

Somebody I know has a Coventry ISA, opened this year, that they paid £19K into when they opened it. They also have a Coventry instant access type acct with £1k into it. They've just transferred £4k from NW and accidentally transferred to the ISA (it was meant to be xfrd into the IA account). The money hasn't shown up yet…

I should have a little bit of free cash next month, possibly up to 10k, which I may put some or all of into a bond. Excuse my naivety but how good are Raisin UK and how does it work? Looking on their site they almost seem to be a 'broker' type company. Normally I go with 'trusted' building societies (Atom is my one…

Has anyone else had any trouble viewing their leeds BS accounts on their new online dashboard? I've tried to message them about it but they haven't responded in over a month. I previously was able to get into the old online dashboard system by applying for an account, but this doesn't work anymore.

Paying Tax on Savings Concern
Hi, I have probably earned around £2400 in interest on Savings since last April. I'm concerned about how I pay tax owed on this. I am employed. The interest I will now earn is lower than it was last year. I'm worried that if my tax code is changed, I'll be overpaying as surely a tax code change is for a specific amount?…

Non-fixed savings account pays interest annually. So would that hit next year's PSA?
Hi, Does anyone know a definite answer to this? If I were to open a savings account next week at the start of the 25-26 tax year which pays interest on the anniversary of its opening (so that would be the start of the 26-27 tax year) then would that interest count towards PSA allowance for the year in which it's paid? I…

Paragon - paying into ISA or Savings account?
I know it currently says on their site that to make a payment, you need to use your full name as the name of the account and mark it as personal. However, for an account I opened around this time last year, the sort code and account number is the same as currently shown, but on that occasion, we were advised to mark as a…

New to Crypto - What to do if you make a lot of profit?
I recently decided to buy some crypto (with money I can afford to lose). I'm a complete novice in all areas to do with tax and banking, I just know the very basics. I was wondering if one of the currencies suddenly shot up in price and I made, say £200,000 profit what would the normal man in the street (me) have to do,…
