S&S ISA - FSA Protection Scheme
I understand that any investments in a S&S ISA is ring fenced from any other parties. However, I understand that the actual funds invested in (Fidelity, Newton, HSBC, etc) are protected under the FSA Protection Scheme to the sum of £50,000 per fund. Is this correct? And if this is correct, one should limit the amount…

Leave their Isa allowance to the last few days of the tax year? Working at the bank on saturday morning and no joke, around 30 customers pile in during the 3 hours we are open trying to open ISA's. They then have the cheek to get assey when they are refused as there are not enough staff to see all customers that day. lol…

Buy shares now or wait until new tax year?
Say I bought £2000 worth of shares in 2010/ 2011 tax year and then decided to sell it in 2011/ 2012 tax year worth £2020, would it all contribute towards the new tax year's allowance before CGT comes in; or, would it just be the £20? Sorry if this is an obvious answer. I googled the query before hand to no success.

Why are interest rates quoted for £15000+ by HSBC for ISAs?
Looking at the HSBC, the headline e-ISA interest rate is shown as "up to 2.75%AER". However, digging a little deeper, I see that the rates are: £15000+ - 2.75% AER £9000+ - 2.10% AER Up to £9000 - 1.75% AER As I understand it, the maximum a new saver can deposit this FY is £5100 - so the rate applicable then is 1.75%AER.…
