Cuddlymarms getting on with it diary
Hi all :) Just what you all need another diary :) But anyway I feel the need to put words on a page to keep me on the straight and narrow. Some of you might remember me from the bankruptcy board a few years back. We had a small business and the recession (and a few silly decisions) caused us to lose everything. But six…

Free prescriptions for 60 year old
Hi, My DH is now 60. I've just found out he will get free prescriptions and eye tests, but I can't seem to find out how he claims for them. Could someone tell me please? Do over 60s still have to pay for a dental check up? He is working full time, and neither of us claim any benefits. Thanks, Candy…

About wills
I have a question about wills. My husband and I have "mirror wills" and have them in a large tin box along with all our other important paperwork. The solicitor that drew them up has since retired due to ill health so nobody could get confirmation from him if they got lost. My question is are wills registered and available…

changing a will
I have friends, without a great deal of assets, who already have wills and they are quite happy with the provisions in these. One of their friends died recently and his wife is very unhappy with how the solicitor is dealing with the estate. So they have decided they would like to remove their solicitor from being executor.…

Drop in income, pre-retirement?
Interesting article/ survey about finances tightening post- 50. I had assumed the time before retiring was the best opportunity for people to get their finances in order, before a drop in income at pension age. Does this chime with people's experience?
