Recent transfer of Junior ISA
My son has recently turned 18 and his Foresters Junior ISA has been reinvested into an ISA. They have written to him and say he has 30 days to cancel. If he wanted to just withdraw it all into his bank account it says he would be liable for government penalty. Does anyone know how this works? Is it a percentage of the…

Trading 212 security
I opened a cash ISA on Friday via the app and very surprised security in the app seems so poor. It doesn't auto log out & only uses a password. No biometrics or even additional layers of security. I've also got Chase which is essentially the same bank which does have the expected layers of security.

LISA Bonus
Planning to put 4k on opening a LISA. This will achieve the 25% bonus in the first year. Question is, do you need to put 4k in every year to get the maximum bonus?

Cash ISA Queries
I have several queries relating to Cash ISAs that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I've been reading online about them today and some of it's very confusing. * If I open a Cash ISA investing £20K, will I ever have to pay tax on this even when the interest goes over £1K annually? * Can I add another £20K to this ISA…

Savings
Hi, I have savings of over £100,000 and I know I am losing money with this just sitting in my bank. What is the best way forward to stop this? Maybe a isa? This is going to be used as a deposit for a flat or house, so I will probably use it between January and July next year. Thanks

Variable or Fixed Rate ISA....that is the question
Hi All, I have a Zopa 1 year Fixed ISA coming to an end this month, so was shopping around for current interest rates, and best ideas. At the moment, variable ISAs are proving to be paying more, but could have the interest rate go up or down through the year Fixed rate ISAs are paying less, but it is Fixed at that rate For…

Flexible ISAs: Current year subscriptions can no longer be replaced in a different ISA
This came up in a thread on the main savings board, but I thought it worthy of its own thread, as several forumites make use of ISA flexibility to move money between their various ISAs and it has been the subject of quite a few threads in the past month or so. Original thread is:…

Spouse inheriting isas
A wife /husband can add to their own isa, the value of their spouses isa at the date of their death. Lets say its £15000 . What if the will says £10000 to be given to a son /daughter . Would the spouse acting as executor, be able to claim just £5k to add to their own isa, or the full £15000

Isa with HL
Hello, I have an s&s ISA with HL that ive had for a few years now. Currently have £40k sat in it. is it worth moving to another provider for the cheaper fees? I also have 3 junior ISAs with HL. HMRC rules allowing banks to take up to 15 days to transfer money from an ISA
Castle Trust Bank have told me that HMRC allow them to take 15 working days to transfer a maturing ISA to a new provider and that the maturing ISA will sit in a holding account at 0.01%. Does this allow banks to drag their feet and make money from any maturing ISA? They must be making staggering sums of money from this…

MONEYBOX ISA
I have transferred an ISA which was a 2023 ISA from another provider to Moneybox. I want to use my £20,000 allowance for this year to get an ISA with Moneybox. Does this go into a new ISA pot or just tops up the £20,000 + that I have from the 2023 ISA. The app does not make it clear. With a bank online you see each year's…

Hello, I would like to open an instant access ISA, and transfer a maturing ISAs from previous years in November, and introduce new funds which mature in Dec and Jan. Flexible ISA and Partial Transfer
Hello I have a flexible cash ISA with Chip Bank and have deposited £10k this year but recently withdrew £5k to cover a large expense. Lifetime ISA for daughter & will
My daughter will inherit my share of the residential home when I die (I have cancer) but my husband will have a living interest in the house until he dies & also owns a share of the house outright in his name too. If my daughter buys a house after I die, does this mean my daughter is not classed as a First Tine Buyer’ and…

Move non-flexible ISA to flexible ISA?
I understand that with a flexible ISA you can take out money from this year and/or previous years, and if you pay it back within the tax year it doesn't affect your allowance. Therefore, if I want to 'borrow' money from a non-flexible ISA for a few months (within one tax year) without losing the ISA allowance, can I just…

Plum ISA - delays in withdrawing money
Hi all Just a heads-up/warning but I went to withdraw some money from my Plum ISA on Thursday. They initially promised that I would have the money back in my Plum “pocket” by Friday but it did not arrive. Quite a large withdrawal is in limbo - they claim there is a “technical issue” (details not given - with no timeline…

Nationwide ISA has ended - what should I do? Please help.
So, we made an appointment just over a year ago with Nationwide. We wanted to take out an ISA £20k each - we had that in premium bonds and getting nice little wins, but nothing compared to the 6ish % (got nearer 5% in the end) At the appointment in the branch they "didn't have time to open two" We took out a 12 month Cash…
