ASHPs on EBAY
Hi Everyone, We have underfloor heating powered by oil. I'm thinking of purchasing an ASHP to take advantage of the RHI. There are a number of models on Ebay. Does anyone have any recommendations, or ones to especially avoid?

ASHP's and EBAY
Hi Everyone, I 'm seriously considering buying an ASHP ( we are on oil at the moment, and our heating bills are grim). I have seen them on Ebay, but given the size of the purchase, I'm a bit cautious.. Does anyoe have any Ebay recommendations, or warnings about who to buy from? Many thanks in advance of any replies.

GSHP Running Costs?
Is there anyone here who has a GSHP and UFH who can give me some idea if it is meeting specified running costs as detailed when installed? Or any links? Still hearing lots of rumours that that electricity costs are high but I can't substantiate them.

Ecodan ASHP Help...BILLS!!!
Hi All, I have recently moved into a newly built house. 5 bedrooms and quite spacious. The developer has specified a Mitsi Ecodan HW140 single phase unit for the house. It has been coupled with a Manco cylinder, underfloor heating with stats in each room, rads upstairs with a central stat, hot water runs for 1.5 hours a…

Ground Source Heatpump Problems
Could anybody offer some advice about ground source heatpumps please? I'm finding the system more expensive to run than my neighbours in bigger houses with oil or lpg boilers. I had a ground source heatpump system installed in Feb 09. The manufacturer actually installed the system and specified that no controls were to be…

ASHP's & planning consent, opinions sought
Hi all. Having had planning refused for a planned ASHP (ecodan) for an apartment a week ago, I would like to hear from anyone who has had approval/refusal & if it is worth appealing. Reasons for refusal were a) noise & b) conservation area. 1) 45dB is not noisy, I am told a combi boiler flue is 40dB. So only a bit more…

ASHP or GSHP
after much research and no gas we are looking at fitting ASHP or GSHP. Would probably prefer to go for air source mainly because of less disruption whilst installing. Property is new build well insulated with underfloor heating throughout. We have been to lots of self build shows, read all the literature but would really…

Air source heatpump
My ASHP was 2 years old in November 2009 and since installation has constantly failed to work properly. It broke down a few days after the warranty ran out and since November it has been silent. I have tried to get an engineer to come and fix it from the manufacturer and have had no success in getting someone to visit. I…

ASHP's & planning consent
Hi all. Picked up good info here on ASHP's (the good & the bad) & will be going down the ASHP route (hopefully quickly). Anyone been through the planning process? Looked at the forms, don't really cater for such things, call to the local planning office highlights their lack understanding. Thanks

ASHP's and the maze of info
Hi everyone, I wish to install a CO2 & pocket friendly heating system in my appartment, there is no gas. It is purpose built, but in the 70s so not up to the latest codes by a long way. 80m2, first floor. South coast. My initial feelings are not good, I find a market with little competition and therefore things are…

Considering ASHP in old property
Hi Forum, I own an old property which is currently heated by oil fired CH, this provides hot water too which I can heat with an immersion heater on Economy 7, I tend to do this on weekdays to let the CH take the oil without the distraction of heating water too. I am interested in an Air Source Heat Pump, but do wonder…

ASHP costs
Hi all, I live in a village with no gas and currently have storage heaters. I have been looking at the ASHP systems and was just wondering how much they cost installed. I know there are a lot of factors but was looking at a split system with a heater in the front room and one at the top of the landing. Was looking at the…

ASHP Recommendations
Hi Guys/Gals, I am thinking of putting in an ASHP system into my house. I currently use 4x47Kg Bottled Propane LGP, and it is costing a fortune to heat the house. We live in a 3 Bedroom 2-Storey Semi Detached at the Very North Of Scotland (Near John O' Groats), with Radiators in each room. Here is some weather stats for my…

Central Heating - ASHP?
Hi I'm looking to put central heating in my 3 bed terraced house. Rural so gas isn't an option. Neither is LPG as couldn't have bulk as nowhere to store tank to fit in with regs (not keen anyway). I was looking at oil but am thinking against it as a) I don't have a huge garden and would rather not have a tank and b) Oil…
