Ecodan ASHP and claiming RHI

We are looking to get an Mitsubishi Ecodan system installed with an FTC6 controller which I believe I can link up to the Mitsubishi Melcloud app. We will use an MCS Installer who will issue an MCS certificate on completion.
Have anyone used this system to then claim RHI and what is the process to start the claims?

Yes. I applied yesterday. (Ecodan 14kW ASHP). Are you asking about the basic ASHP RHI or the additional MMSP monitoring package? If it's the basic RHI it's very easy. Your supplier will register your installation on the Ofgem site and then you apply using the information they (the supplier) gives you. It took me about about 10 minutes and I got a confirmation of success immediately; I got £11200 over 7 years (thanks taxpayers
). I am also getting the optional MMSP package; that has an additional heat and electricity meter and a Wifi link to Melcloud. It costs more but this is also reclaimable through fixed additional RHI payments.
It's explained here:

Or your supplier should be able to walk you through the process.

@shinytop did not state this explicitly but you apply online. I can confirm that it takes only a short while and, all being well, you get an instant confirmation.Reed1

@Essex_Jim, if you have a 'normal' ASHP where it is your only source of heating and HW, RHI is based on the combined heating and HW usage stated on your EPC (capped at 20000 kWh/year) your ASHP's nominal COP and a tariff (amount per kWh, which increases with CPI). It's worked out when you apply and fixed for the 7 years (apart from CPI increase).
In case you don't know there are several online calculators but this one explains it quite well.

It's only when you have something more complictated like an ASHP/oil combined system that you have to submit quarterly readings of how much energy is being used by the ASHP to work out your payment.
