Food shopping & groceries

If you have placed an online order with ASDA and then go in to edit your order up until the day before, you may LOSE your delivery slot completely. This happened to me and there are no warnings on their website or email that this may happen. I edited my order at 4pm the day before my saturday am delivery and was not able…

Pretty good to use on a diet to help your chocolate cravings.

For those who have their Chicago Town Pizza coupons, I bought mine at Waitrose today who have a special offer for different flavours at £3, so supper for £1 tonight using coupon:money:

My husband used to buy the Basic Sainburys Cappuccino but the have stopped making it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to find something similar without trying every other brand on the market......he definitely doesn't want sachets.

Does anyone know if there is a manufacturer still making this kind of crisp? I need to find some ready salted of the little, hard, really thin chip style crisps (not the fluffy chipstick kind). If anyone knows where I can find these or if there is an own brand equivalent I would be most grateful. Thank you.

I bought some baking potatoes in Asda today for £1 for 1.75kg. Looked good, but never know when Asda offers end. Saxon potatoes showing on my bag, but may differ. Lynsey

Walked out of Sainsbury's Sunday afternoon with the usual fistful of paper, and noticed that every coupon was for extra points rather than money off. Rummaged through Tesco coupons when I got home - same thing. Is this a pre-Christmas ploy by supermarkets to maximise their cashflow or a new trend ? Anyone else had this in…

We used the last of the mint sauce last night, so I found myself comparing ASDA SmartPrice and Tesco Everyday Value mint sauce. Both are 24p for 165g. So I had look at the list of ingredients, on the old jar of ASDA stuff and the Tesco website, to see if there was any difference. What I found was surprising. The ASDA stuff…

In Asda today I spotted milk chocolate Chocolate Oranges for £1 and bags of funsize Mars Bars (16 in a bag I think) also for £1 Zippy x

I had a flyer through the post today from Iceland saying if I spend £15 in two transactions from today to 24th Nov, I will have £5 credited onto my bonus card between 6th - 20th Dec. I think if you spend more at Iceland, you will need to spend more and get more money credited onto your bonus card as the print where it…

I haven't grocery shopped online for years but due to time restrictions I have started again. My 2 experiences with Asda have been as follows: Shop 1 - stupidly I diidn't take any notice of the end dates of discounted products and offers - so when my shopping came it cost more than I expected. Shop 2 - having learned my…

Hi, As I normally shop in Aldi with another trip to Asda for stuff I can't get, apart from there, Is there anywhere that sells wholewheat pasta cheaper than Asda? BB

Is this a record? I went to collect my order and the helper said she had never seen such a list of unavailable items. I don't often use Tesco as I prefer Ocado, I think this is the last time I will use Tesco. I don't normally tick substitutions due to the weird things they substitute. Has anyone else have this problem with…

Hi there Does anyone use the basic value (any supermarket) plain or self raising flours? I'm trying to cut down on my food costs, and I do quite a bit of baking. What, if anything would the difference be between the basic value and the standard product? Besides cost and packaging? Anyone any experience? Thanks

I normally buy these and they are yummy! especially the sweet and sour one.. I was just wondering if it will be cheaper by making my own stir fry?

Bags of 16 fun size mars and bags of 15 fun size milky way are £1.25 at Sainsburys which is less than half price. Perfect for the trick or treaters :j

On Tuesday night was in ASDA and noticed that the packs of fish that had been reduced were sitting on the edge of the refrigeration cabinet, on top of the air outlets. When the refrigeration unit chills the cabinet down it sucks the room temperature air away from the products and into the store and with the motor running…

My oh loves cooking and his favourite is pan frying for example stir fry, curry, Mexican rice dishes, paella and rissoto. Pretty much anything he can cook in a wok or frying pan. I'd like to get him a recipe book for Christmas any suggestions?

Hi folks! I started a new job 3-4 weeks ago and it seems to be tradition that everyone brings something in when it's their birthday. It's my birthday later on in the week and I was thinking maybe taking one of those large tins of chocolates ('Celebrations', 'Roses', 'Heroes', etc.) into work. I take a couple of buses into…
