Failed Tesco grocery delivery
I had a 9-10 slot last night. I got a text at 9.10 to say my delivery was delayed, extending the slot to 11:32 (weirdly specific!). I didn't really mind at the time, but 11:32 came and went so I thought I should give customer services a call - but they were closed. I waited up a bit longer and tried to find other ways to…

Asda Price Guarantee
Just wanted to sound off a little. Despite the technological advances over the years - it still fascinates me that Asda insist that you print out the voucher if you're entitled to a APG refund off your next shop. I suggested a little while ago on Twitter that it would be easier for customers & more helpful to the…

coffee syrup?
Hi - I just noticed that coffee syrup is fairly cheap compared to other syrups, especially the American style pancake syrups or even Golden. Has anyone tried using it for other purposes than in coffee? My teen eats porridge each morning and I wonder if I could replace her expensive brand with this? and for baking? And…

Fed up of unripe fruit
[rant]The title says it, I'm fed up of supermarkets pushing unripe fruit with the "Ripen at home" excuse. I know I can buy a stockpile and wait for it to ripen, but the bigger the stockpile the bigger the risk of having to throw it away uneaten if it ripens faster than I bargained for. It was a choice of pears as crunchy…

Are there any 'regional' foods you an not buy where you live ?
I am just wondering whether there are any food related items, which are only sold in certain regions which you would like to buy. I was born in Northern Ireland and as a kid remember my parents missing potato bread and soda bread, which were not available in England. Whenever we traveled to NI my parents would stock up.…

Campaign to improve SELs for beer
It can be fiddly trying to work out how to find the most bangs for the buck. SELs are based on price per 100ml but do not include units of alcohol to the pound. This is unfair. Easy enough when juggling 330 and 500 ml bottles but becomes ungainly when 275 and 568 ml and cans come into the mix. And even worse if you want to…

Where to buy spices in bulk online?
I've always bought spices (cinnammon, oregano, pepper corns, basil, etc) from supermarkets, but want to cut costs and buy in bulk. I don't really need huge quantities, but I think those supermarket jars are far too expensive. Which websites you would advise me to buy them from pls? Cheers

Washing powder, best buy?
We tend to do about 6 washes a week in our house and I always feel that I am paying over the odds when I buy a standard box of washing powder of say 15/25 washes for £5 for example. Which ones do people buy? I have been looking at Aldi Almat £3.29 for 30 washes, and it seems to have won awards, I am keen on a larger pack…

£1000 a month on food???
I read a post on here a while ago where someone said they had friends in London who spent £1000 a month on food. How is that even possible?? And no, they didn't have 17 children either.... So my question of the day is - if you had £1000 a month to spend on food what would you buy? What would you do differently with your…

Cheap toothpaste vs branded?
My husband has fairly sensitive teeth and insists the only toothpaste he can use that doesn't make his teeth sensitive is Colgate Total. I would like to know if anyone with sensitive teeth can recommend a cheaper toothpaste that they have found effective please? I tend to buy Colgate when it is 2 for £4 at Tesco - but i…
