Food shopping & groceries

I did my latest order for delivery and noticed that Everyday Value corned beef wasn't available. So I popped in after work tonight to clear the shelf. Unfortunately I couldn't even do that as the shelf had been cleared and the shelf label had been removed. I did manage to get another couple of items that stop being on…

Hi there - I'm new to these boards and normally post on the pure money boards, so apologies if this is old news: I do a 'main' grocery shop at Asda each week, and most weeks buy similar things. Probably half of my shop will be same items that I bought the week before, and the other half is very similar stuff, but with some…

Hi, looking for a recommendation for really good, strong rum flavouring/essence please. This is for rum & raisin ice cream and to get the decent level of flavour using real rum requires so much of it that it takes forever for the ice cream to set - and the raisins fall to the bottom! So I'd like to be able to soak the…

I ROBOshop (Research Online, Buy Offline) for all of my food items. I'm on an occupational pension, so I have (unfortunately) the financial incentive but (fortunately) the time to do so. Possibly due to their pricing initiative, I'm finding more of the items I need are now cheaper in Sainsbury's. This should be good news,…

I may be slow to the party here but for those of you who enjoy the odd cocktail or two and like to recreate them at home without having to fork out for all the ingredients, I have come across Funkin Cocktail mixers which I have been very impressed with. They do a good range of mixers for all the popular cocktails and in…

In Iceland today I spotted Surf soap powder, 2 different perfumes, for £3 for a 45 wash box.

Is Costco worth it? We don't spend that much on food shopping in general but from looking around today there are a few things I could buy that would mean we would not need to buy in the weekly shop. My wife says she just likes to buy what we need when we need it. But there are some things that we use a fair amount of that…
