Help with copper leaf.
Hello everybody. I’m about to embark on a bedroom makeover and will be copper leafing my varnished pine bed. My questions are: Should I sand the bed prior to applying the leaf? Is it a good idea to varnish, or seal it in another way to stop it rubbing off? Thank you in advance for your replies.

Craft idea - felt
Hi, I’m not a crafter but I need an idea of what to do with felt. I have a small felt heart which is a keepsake. I want to put this in a photo box frame to display. I’m don’t want to use glue as I don’t want to damage it. Someone had suggested small Velcro sticky spots. Has anyone any other ideas? Thanks!

Advice please: Sewing needle to re-attach buttons to coat
Hi, Please help. I bought a lovely, warm, REALLY THICK wool blend coat, similar to this coat: https://www.marksandspencer.com/belted-double-breasted-coat-with-wool/p/clp60473360 Unfortunately some of the buttons have already fallen off and while I don't want to return the coat I obviously need the buttons back on. I have…

No Craft Spending in 2020 - I will bust my stash this year!!!
So after my failure this year I am most definately going to try really hard to bust my stash in 2020 so have put myself on a self imposed craft spending ban during 2020. I originally thought of 20 months of No spending but thought given my last feeble attempts I thought I'd start with just a year and see how I get on. So…

Help! Not sure what machine to buy
I'm thinking of picking the cricut maker up—but I can't seem to find a simple yes/no answer as to whether metal dies can also be treated. I have a range of hobbies, such as quilting, scrap booking, and card making, and I'm not sure if the manufacturer is really worth the extra cash or if I'm more suited to picking up the…

NaNoWriMo
November is national novel writing month, a challenge to write a novel in 30 days. I won’t be taking part this year as I published a book earlier this year and it was exhausting, but is anyone here doing it? I’ve done it a few times and it was fun.

Sewing machine
Hi, I have a new sewing machine, I've only used it for a few weeks and its jamming. The top thread wasnt feeding down, so piling up, and the bobbin thread (which is nearly finished) feels very tight in the bobbin case. Any ideas what the problem is before I start undoing bits? Thanks.

Using maps for crafts
I've got a bunch of old maps that I was hoping to use for crafting, but the creases in them are proving difficult to smooth out. I've had some cut out pieces in the middle of some heavy books for a few weeks, but that hasn't helped much. Have also tried ironing them, to no avail. People seem to use maps for bunting but I'm…

Cheapest place for Fimo or an alternative?
Hi, I purchased my first Fimo this week as I would like to make hanging gingerbread men to give as little gifts this Christmas. I’ve found I can only get a max of 2 out of each block and that’s if I’ve done it thinner than I wanted to. I’m finding it £2+ after postage, is there a cheaper option? I’ve seen some good value…

Die cutting machine - which one?
HI, I have been a long time lurker on here and hopefully you can offer me some advice. I have also recently returned to card making during lockdown, and prior to lockdown found a TODO machine in a 2nd hand shop. This is a die cutting machine, where you roll the rollers over using a handle. It is quite cumbersome and is not…

Hampers
Hello! First time on here. I’m toying with the idea of starting a gift hamper service. Three questions... 1. Can I sell other people’s/companies products in a hamper? 2. If so, who is responsible if the buyer suffers an allergic reaction from a product (soap for example)? Who is liable? 3. Can I split a branded product…
