Contacting DWP (ESA)
I only need to update my address Moved 2 weeks ago. Have phoned almost daily. I can get passed security but after that I'm constantly on hold. I've tried phoning at different times. Can I go to the job centre with ID and proof of address and change it that way? (Stil in the same LA so it's still ESA for me and not UC)

In February (2024) my partner and I received a migration letter to move from 'child tax credits' onto 'universal credit'. We decided to get ahead (still having a couple of months before activation) and started to loosely fill in some details before collating all the documents to complete the application later on. At a…

Understanding SMI - is it worth it?
We recently have been confirmed that we can claim UC and have been told in our journal that we can look to apply for SMI loans. I was sketchy at first, but the more I think about it, it may be a good option for us. However there's not much information out there of the future consequences of it's reality. My spouse and I…

Final child tax credits + self assessment

I used an accountant to submit my tax return and paid my tax and NI but today I think I have declared some share dividends in the wrong tax year. The dividends were for 2022 so I included…
