Carers allowance

Hi,
My wife is in receipt of carers allowance as she is the primary carer for our disabled son. She works part time and we are always careful not to go over the earnings allowance.
We made a mistake when calculating her wage and pension contribution earlier last year and she earn't around £1.20 a week more than the allowance.
It was discussed in the media that they wouldn't be chasing people to pay back the carers allowance if they only went over by a couple of pounds. Is this actually a thing now?
We sent all the evidence and they are looking at the claim but it would appear they have also stopped her carers whilst they do this (no communication on this, they just haven't paid the latest installment).
Has anybody got any experience of this?
thanks
Gareth

The review is still ongoing and hasn’t reported back yet. I’m not sure if there’s been any formal decisions around what they will ignore and they won’t. Some of the carers organisations might have more information? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
