BR payment.
I am in the process of filling out the online form for bankruptcy, but won't be submitting till next months rent has cleared. In terms of paying the fee, i see conflicting reports, you can pay by credit card - but morally you shouldn't. People advising to take it out in cash and pay that way - surely this is just as…

Writing to creditors after being accepted for bankruptcy
I have recently been accepted for bankruptcy, and thinking ahead - I'm wondering about the time coming soon I assume when my debtors haven't received the next regular monthly payments and will be writing angry letters to me about that. Whilst I know the OR contacts them, I also know these companies will likely try to get…

What is considered as Excessive Pension Payment - post discharge.
I have recently been discharged from bankruptcy in Scotland (Sequestration), and I am subject to a Debt Contribution Order, which was set at NIL as the time of my bankruptcy as I was not working, but will be in force for a further 3 years. I am in the process of transitioning from being largely on benefits to a better paid…

Hello, I'm a DFW forumite and am trying to help a family member, who has been struggling with debt for some time now and having punched his numbers into the SC online debt remedy tool, the recommendation is bankruptcy. Selling the car?
This may be a bit of a strange question. Background: I'm 3 months into my bankruptcy, it was very straightforward and didn't need an interview although I haven't yet had any word about an IPA but I'm prepared to hear at any point, I'm saving up my council tax etc. They said I could keep my car as it was essential for work…

Hi can anyone tell me how long a BRO should remain on your credit file for?. Bankruptcy started 15 May 2015 and was discharged on 15 May 2016. Advice please
Can someone talk me through the process of going bankrupt? Is it just a case of filing for bankruptcy online and waiting for the phone call to go over everything and that’s it? Will we need to pay anything else at all? What happens to a car which is on hire purchase? We have 19 payments left to make. Will that be taken…

Hi, I am looking for some advice re Bankruptcy. I recently set up a DMP but the maximum they say I can afford is £84. I have 2 CCJ's plus 12 other creditors, owing a total of £29870. Paying £84 a month means that It will take me years to pay off, so Bankruptcy seems the better option. I have 2 main issues I need some…
