Will I regret...?
Hi all, Looking forward to hearing your views. I moved out of the family home two years ago taking an ancient 15" Dell laptop with me and leaving behind the family iMac and I'm a bit of a Mac convert if I'm honest. Fast forward two years, the laptop is finally dead and as I'm looking for a new job I really really need a…

For the past few weeks when the phone rings our broadband connection goes off and it's really annoying. We have had no new lines/phones/router or jack. I can't think of anything that has changed to cause it. Can anyone give me an idea of where to start looking for a remedy, please?

Grainy playback on HD camcorder
Hi. I have a Samsung R10 HD camcorder. Using a Transcend Class 10 8GB SD card with it. Problem I have is that the playback on PC looks very 'digitalised' around the edges of the subject when moving i.e. very blocky. Grateful for any ideas?

HELP please!!!!! HP touchpad
Got a touchpad and was just randomly pressing the buttons on the side and all that shows on the screen now is a giant USB logo. Is that normal - I've plugged it in to charge and that's all that's on the screen! Don't want to ask my OH in case he's cross with me for just pressing buttons!

Minimum Spec for streaming compressed HD
I have been streaming free live coverage of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge this week. The picture quality in HD is great when I get the picture as intended. Unfortunately that is only about 5% of the time for me, the picture tends to be slightly blocky most of the time but watchable although occasionally it goes very…

Replacement for Shuttle
Can anyone advise on a replacement for a Shuttle small format pc. It runs too slowly and has become very noisy. It's been checked for viruses/malware etc. It currently has only 2 x 512 mb of Ram and I know that I could put in 2 x 1gb sticks for about £50, but I'm reluctant to spend on it if its on its way out anyway. The…

Please help - computer at a virtual standstill!
Since yesterday my computer has gone from being quite slow to barely moving at all - it takes 1-2 mins for a page to open. It appears to be continually trying to do a Kaspersky update, but only gets to about 23% of the download and then goes back to 0% - could this be the cause? I have looked on the Kaspersky site but just…

Slightly OT - Double Glazing
I know this is a bit OT but I value the opinion of those who post here. I'm planning to have my front door, patio door, and two upstairs windows replaced in UPVC. I'm going to get a quote from two local independent companies and I was thinking of getting a quote from one of the nationals as well. Should I bother? If not…

iPad best deal
It seems that the prices of iPads are fixed in the UK, eg. 16 GB Wi-Fi + 3G £499, so that pretty much everywhere sells for the same price. Looking at the options from the phone companies, Orange and Three have similar pricings, but Three's 3G includes 15 GB per month whereas Orange's only includes 2 GB (1 + 1 off-peak).…

Roaming charges by T Mobile
Sorry, not sure where to put this, but wondered if anyone could advise please. My son's friend has been on holiday to Egypt taking her mobile with her which is actually on her mother's contract. She had no idea that there was such a thing as a roaming charge, or that the function could be switched on or off. The credit…
