Hi,
I am looking for some laptop/notebook advice plz.
I have my own works laptop but I am unable to download anything & have limited functions.
I want to buy my daughter/family a laptop which dd can use for homework purposes (I believe there are kids websites for maths/english one of which called mathaletics) & so I can update my sat nav & put new songs on my ipod.
I dont know much about laptops or notebooks so I am after some advice as to what should i be looking for for the useage i want the computer for?
Think I will need some sort of virus protection with me wanting to download songs but not sure which one & where to buy from/
Also I dont think i need something with a huge memory & i dont really want to spend over £400.
Any advice greatly appreciated please.

Any modern laptop will meet your needs. For your budget I'd suggest. http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_5742_1109794.html
Good CPU and plenty of memory and disk space. And its red! The only really bad point is the mono speaker.
Get a cheap 3-year warranty on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acer-Advantage-Notebook-Extended-Warranty-/130563181318
(recommended because laptops just don't last as long as they should).
There is a security package included with the laptop. Don't know if its any good. If you don't get on with it the most popular free Anti-Virus is Avast http://www.prevx.com/0
