hiya again guys

I seem to have lost messenger. running windows 7 tried to download it again - but unable to install the new version

Anyone any ideas

What makes you think it's gone?

What exactly happens when you try to install the program?

Click on Start and type messenger in the search box. It'll then list the program if its installed. Click on it. Once its running, right click on the icon in the taskbar and pin it to the taskbar so you don't have to go hunting for it again.

I used to have a shortcut on the computer which opened up messenger - but since the last update of internet explorer this disappeared. tried to download the 2011 version - but no joy.

nothing comes up when i do a search

If it is installed you should find it at

"C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe"

tried searching for that - but not install

anywhere I can find an older version to try and install

thats where I tried to download it from but just get error messages when trying to install. Hence wondering if there is somewhere to get any older version.

Not well up on windows 7. Could you do a system restore back to the date you knew messenger was working ? Then not let pc download the update so it doesn't happen again.
