I have a System 32 error on my laptop it will not boot up. I am being asked for the original disks which I don't have as I bought it from PC World. Is this something I can fix myself or do I need to take it to a shop?

Free anti-virus for Windows XP PC

I cannot download Service Pack 3. I have followed the trouble shooting page on Microsoft, but still no luck.
