Hi
We have purchased a new laptop for our 9 yr old for xmas, hubby has got it already set up for xmas day, but we would like to put on an animated xmas picture so when he opens the screen up he will be greeted with "MERRY CHRISTMAS" , but we don't know how to go about this, any help really appreciated
Thanks

hmmm
Doing EXACTLY what you want to do would mean having a program run on boot up. which is very difficult and not recommended
So my suggestion is to goto LIVE SEARCH
http://www.live.com/?scope=images
put in 'MERRY CHRISTMAS'
goto 'size' (Top left) and select 'desktop'
Then scan through all the pics till you see one you like
click 'show full size image'
Right click and SET AS DESKTOP BACKGROUND
It will set the desktop as that image
You could then clear any icons out of the way by 'right clicking' the desktop and select NEW FOLDER
put all the icons inside that folder and move it elsewhere (COMPUTER/C DRIVE) or wherever for use later:idea:0 -
could always find an animated xmas page, set it as homepage, drag the internet explorer (or firefox, safari etc) icon into the programs>startup folder..Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0
