Hello I have found the Portable application site and wondered if anyone uses it and if so what they think of it.
Do you have to have a certain size memory stick?
Thanks Sarer

I have used the portable version of Firefox for a presentation I had to do. I couldn't install Firefox on the PC due to a software policy restriction, and couldn't use IE due to a bug in the website (that I didn't want to let on to our clients as it would have been fixed before they had to use the site anyway). It worked perfectly.
As for the size of memory stick... well, it needs to be big enough to fit the application on! I'm pretty sure the PC wouldn't need to write anything to the drive (except possibly some small .INI files for certain apps depending on how they work) - the app would run in system RAM.0 -

I have used portable apps quite a lot while at university, particularly portable Thunderbird, portable Firefox and portable Gaim (now Pidgin). Very very useful I think.0 -
I've been using Portable Apps for years, excellent suite and tools.0
