Help pls can't upload docs?

Hi,

I am having trouble uploading documents.

I can attach docs to my emails without problems.

But there is one secure site I log in to and need to be able to upload Word docs to. This works fine on my laptop and another PC but on this PC it won't let me and keeps coming up with "an IO error occurred".

This was an old works PC so it's possible there is some security control placed on it to stop being able to upload work files I don't know.

Please does anyone know how I could fix this as otherwise each time I want to upload I'm having to switch off the PC and fire up the laptop...

Hi,

It's a site for someone I do work for and upload the work to. I don't think it's anything at all to do with the site itself as I am able to upload there without problems both from my laptop and from another desktop PC.

I think it's more likely to be something in this PC's settings that is restricting my ability to upload - especially as it is a PC purchased from my main employer where the IT department puts in place all sorts of "stuff" to stop employees doing things they shouldnt during work time....or which could pose a security threat to work documents etc.

I just don't have a clue where to look to alter this setting - if anyone can help that would be great as it's a real nuisance having to switch on the laptop to upload work every time I finish it!

Ah, ok, that would make sense: a possible Policy restriction: yes, in which case u would have to speak to the Network Manager (the horror, the horror! :rotfl:

Hi, thanks for your reply above - yes some sort of policy restriction I guess. This is a machine my employer sold to me as they were doing a company wide replacement of old PC base machines. The IT department is so unhelpful I doubt I'd get any joy with them. I was hoping someone on here might have some suggestions of where I could look on here to deselect whatever has been selected? I am not technically minded so don't really know where to look.

Or could I wipe/delete something to make it work? Anyone....?
