My house is so empty now
I had to have my beloved dog PTS on January 2nd. I still miss him so much, can't stop the tears at the least little thing. I don't have to go into my company's offices much but had to on Friday, it ended up with a little group of us crying our eyes out in the board room. He had been ill for a while, he'd been drinking a…

Have just reserved two gorgeous little kittens!
We went to a local re-homing centre yesterday and pending a home visit will be getting 2 14week kittens! :j I'm after some advice about the food - after reading some other posts on here about the low meat content, fillers, etc of your well known supermarket sellers. The kittens have been fed a mixture as its all donated…

very tough day but didn't have a choice :(
Okay so this I my first post on here but I couldn't not share my experience. So last night we received a phone call from my cousin saying she had decided to stay down south (she had been visiting her parents for a week, we checked on the dog twice a day) and that her house had to be vacated by today and that could we sort…

Adopted a 10 yr old cat and younger cat having issues
Hi guys, I adopted a 10yr old cat after her owner passed away as I knew it would be harder to rehome an older cat, so I thought she may as well live the rest of her life with me, so I have 9yr old and 1yr old cat already. Now, the younger old is being a right moody sausage, she hissing and groweling at the 9yr old who…

Wet Cat Food: Canned vs Pouches vs Trays
Hi all, I have noticed when buying cat food that canned cat food seems to be better value. An average tray is about 25p-55p depending on brand. Pouches are about £3-£5 for a box of 12 (25p-45p) so slightly cheaper on average. However, tins are about 75p for a Whiskers Supermeat which lasts more than 3 meals. Our cat seems…

Costs of owning a cat?
We are thinking of getting two kittens and are trying to work out costs of ownership. I've done quite a lot of searching online but can't find any particularly up-to-date links with an indication of costs. From my searching I have come up with the following rough approximations on a per cat basis. Can any moneysavers let…

Doggy needs eye op due to ulcer.
My poor doggy has to have an operation to get rid of an eye ulcer that just won't heal. He has been on a course of antibiotic drops for 3 weeks now & although the ulcer has gotten smaller, it still hasn't healed. Just wondering if anybody else's dog has had an op for the same reason?

Temporary Foster Arrangements - Do we need a contract/written agreement?
Due to their owner being seriously ill, temporary foster homes are being sought for nine dogs, males & females, of varying ages from 18mths to 14 yrs. They are currently being cared for in their own home, but the current live-in dogsitter is unable to stay much longer so ideally foster homes would be required from the end…

feel harassed...
An old friend of mine knew someone who was going to work abroad and wanted to rehome his two staffies (together). He'd had no luck and was due to leave for holland in a few days time, (he'd left the rehoming late to say the least) this was all before xmas. I agreed to take them on as I am very aware what would probably end…

Now obviously as soon as I know they have cracked she is going straight to the vet, both cats are quite happy for me to do this :D Now what I am wondering is there such a thing as cat…

Old Greyhound Problem.
Well she is 11 1/2 years old now and in what decent health. We have a dog walker that comes in while we are at work so she is not in house for more than a 4 hour stretch. At first it was overnight but now sometimes in those short day periods. Peeing in the house. Any reasonable solution above the worst case scenario ?

2-in-1 Cat Loo and Carrier
I saw these double duty carriers/litter boxes on offer at Pets at Home, but wondered whether they're a good deal or a false economy. Has anyone used them, or something like them? I'll hopefully be adopting a couple of cats soon and I've been totting up the costs of buying two (or more!) of everything …
