2-in-1 Cat Loo and Carrier

I saw these double duty carriers/litter boxes on offer at Pets at Home, but wondered whether they're a good deal or a false economy. Has anyone used them, or something like them?
I'll hopefully be adopting a couple of cats soon and I've been totting up the costs of buying two (or more!) of everything :eek:

I have to be perfectly honest and say that I would never touch one of these combined litter trays/carriers. My cats are never too keen on going to the vets, so hate it when the carriers come out, but I have no problem with them using a hooded litter tray.
I would hate to get into the situation where they associated the litter tray with the vets, and stopped using it.0 -
I have an igloo version of this for my boy, and it look identical. It makes for a brilliant litter tray, but when we tried to put him in it when taking him home for the first time (adopted at 4yrs and a powerful 6KG) he broke out of it in seconds by busting the door. Not suited as a carrier in the slightest, especially as the handle at the top can fall into the carrier if leant on too much (usually mid-cleaning the litter :cool:) . Those might be better but I doubt it.
We ended up buying a separate carry case for vet visits etc.when the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up she knows she's losing it

Must admit I'm not keen on the idea. My cat doesn't like the cat carrier as she associates it with going to the vet - I wouldn't want her associating her litter tray with that as well and not wanting to use it. Would you then be taking them to the vet in what is basically a litter tray - plus, knowing mine she'd then decide to 'use' it rather vigourously while at the vets which would be an even more fun trip then usual :rotfl:
Also I change the litter tray say every year (sometimes more), my cat carrier has lasted me about 6-7 years.0 -
Hmm, don't like the idea of expecting a cat to be transported in the same place it pee's and poo's, even though the litter is removed it will still smell like his toilet to him.
It's a no from me.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
we brought 2 carriers for our kittens which we used as their beds for the first few months as it gave them security etc. not been aproblem sofar in using them for vets visits.
we had a seperate covered litter tray which Dylan plays with the lid when were cleaning it but Scruff only goes in their for its intended use so would be no use as a carrier.0 -
Thanks for the thoughts; I was worried that they might develop a fear of the litter tray. And I would definitely not want them "using" it while at the vets (been there, done that
)
So back to the drawing board for me!0
