Temporary Foster Arrangements - Do we need a contract/written agreement?

Due to their owner being seriously ill, temporary foster homes are being sought for nine dogs, males & females, of varying ages from 18mths to 14 yrs. They are currently being cared for in their own home, but the current live-in dogsitter is unable to stay much longer so ideally foster homes would be required from the end of this month/early Feb for approx. four weeks.

My friend & I are trying to source suitable foster homes for them (their owner is a close friend of ours), but we are concerned that we should have some sort of agreement in place in order that there is no confusion over this being a temporary arrangment. It's vitally important that all dogs can be easily returned to their owner when they return home from convalescing.

Does anyone have any advice they can offer or have you used this type of agreement in the past? All advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Nice to save.

I have one of these agreements with the rescue I foster for, they are almost identical to an adoption agreement but for short term only.

It may be worth you contacting some local rescues and see if they will let you see their agreement and either use it or change it to suit your needs. The rescue may also have some free foster homes who could take a dog or two for you. It's not necessarily taking a foster home from a rescue dog in need as some people can only foster a certain type of dog.
