How long is too long?
I have 3 cats that I am wanting to leave home alone for 3 days/2 nights as I have to visit family for a few days. I have no neighbours or friends or family who can look in on them so I will leave clean litter trays, plenty of food and water and hope for the best. What does everyone think? They cant be boarded as the eldest…

My cat's got a loose fang!
Noticed something from her mouth yesterday but she wouldn't let me look and I thought it was a bit of dribble. She's had no trouble eating not even hard cat crunchies. But she's suffered from gingivitis since she was a kitten and has already had a few teeth removed. Anyway while I was stroking her this morning I noticed…

Hedgehogs are like buses....
I haven't seen any for ages then I've found 3 in the space of 10 days. 2 in the garden at dusk, which had to removed to a safe place away from my dogs & just out with said dogs I've found another, crossing a busy road in broad daylight  I've brought it home & it's just eaten half a can of whiskas, drunk a gallon of…

Bug found on dog? Advice please.
Hi there, I was hoping that somebody might be able to give me some advice please. My dog was recently in contact with another dog, who we noticed afterwards was scratching a lot. Since then I have found a bug on him, and two on the sofa. I assumed that they were fleas or mites, but they don't look like that. They are small…

Buying a dog
We'd really like to buy a springer spaniel puppy but one of our friends is really anti-breeders and thinks we should only buy from a rescue centre. Can anyone enter into a debate as to why breeding is so bad for dogs and can someone also tell me why so many breeders dock tails?

My new kitten is scared of me (Photos added as asked)
So, after my baby died last month I decided to rehome two kittens from a rescue centre. They are 9wks and 11wks. One is really out going- gives hugs and eats from my hands. The other one runs away whenever someone is near it - is this normal? We have had them for 24hrs so not long, they've been in a quiet dining room with…

Doing the right thing by your dog
I have a 2 and a half year old CKCS who is the only dog in our house. We took him to puppy classes from 12 weeks old - late because we had him at 10 weeks old, and he had his first vaccination when we had him, when I took him for his second shots my vet said he needed the first ones again as they didn't do the same brand…

How to build up a cat?
Hi, as some of you may know, my little baby has recently been in the vets with some severe problems (she's 14). She seems to be fine now, with the exception that she still doesn't weigh much. She will eat, but not much, and having given her some Tesco's sachet's of food, these have proven to have been a bit too rich for…

Greyhounds - anyone else got one?
After being dog-less at the end of last year, we're now up to two of them - the rescue guy we got in January and yesterday we brought home a retired greyhound (she did 109 races) who is currently, suprisingly here, asleep. Poor gal's got a behind balder than a baboon, still has her grotty kennel coat and looks a right…

Cat seems sick, anyone recognise these symptoms?
Hi all, Posted in here before about my cat, things havent really improved attitude-wise, but now she is being sick :( She is about 18 months old now, and has never been a friendly cat. Always grumbling, growling, hisses when you pick her up. The vet doesnt seem concerned, and advised us to play with her more. He seemed to…
