Breadmaker Seville marmalade recipe, anyone?
Hi all, I have the Seville oranges ready to go but I can't find a marmalade recipe for a breadmaker that looks right. I've searched the forum but there doesn't seem to be anything on here either. Does anyone have a breadmaker marmalade recipe that they trust? Many thanks if you do! Elisheba

Do you consider Tradwives to be Old Style?
Just curious really with all the interest in housewives etc in the press this week. To me, traditional is such a broad term and people seem to have strong views about it. In some ways I am traditional but I'm too modern for the super traditionalists :) It would be nice if the old style values of thrift & reducing waste…

Grey towels 🤔🙄
Despite washing them on a very hot wash my white towels are looking decidedly off-white, greyish and grubby – ugh. Anyone got any good tips for getting them back to pristine white? TIA!

Why dont manufacturers bring back glass bottles?
Just seen the plastics being sent back from indonesia and i cant help wondering why we dont go back to glass bottles? Milk, ribena, cresta and corona - we didnt drink tons of fizzy stuff as it was heavy to carry more than one bottle home. Might make us healthier too! Glass can be recycled in this country, and if they do…

Old Style Home Remedies, Medicine and Self Care
Since I'm full of cold today I thought I'd start a thread and see what everyone's Old Style and homemade recipes and cures are for illness. Nothing against 'real' medicine, but I think that when you are taking the time to make home remedies you are also much more likely to be resting and taking care of yourself, rather…

Weekly Flylady Thread 20th January 2020
Welcome to the weekly Flylady Thread. What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole…

It has been ages since I posted in this section of the forum. I was out here for a couple of weeks before Christmas and now this is me for at least the next 2 years. Now…

Economical to have suits altered?
I spent all my life working in an office that did not require the wearing of suits and so have always worn trousers, shirt and a jumper. I am about to change jobs and this is going to require a proper suit. I went to M&S and asked for a bit of professional help. It turns out that my perfect fit is a slim-fit with 40S…
