Ideas for cheap veggie packed lunches
I need to be frugal and make myself packed lunches for work for as cheap as possible. I am the most unimaginative person in the kitchen EVER. I also could do with some main meal ideas for at home, as if I cooked better I could take leftovers the next day.

Saucy Ideas
Got your attention? :rotfl: In my continuing effort to get us off of packaged foods totally I've run into a bit of a roadblock. I often used the packaged rice and pasta packets as side dishes and while the pasta ones have been quite easy to ditch, most of those were some sort of cream (uses term loosely) sauce and easy for…

Out of date parmesan
I'm emptying the fridge/freezer ready for out new one that's coming tomorrow :j I have found a piece of parmesan - still shrink wrapped that went out of date in the middle of February. Usually I'd do the smell test but with parmesan that's not really possible! I figure it'll be okay as it's matured for so long anyway but…

I am trying to lose weight and eat accordingly to do so but sometimes the money saver in me takes over for example I have a sausage roll in the freezer that I will prob have for lunch to use up rather than buy a healthy lunch. We go to mils on a Sunday for roast as it…

New here and really need to sort myself out(please move if in wrong place)
Hi, I'll cut to the chase - I'm hoping to get into some sort of routine and hope that financial bliss will follow basically. I have a part time job but the 3 days of the week I do work the shifts are all over the place but I'm hoping to hand in a letter during my holiday next month to ask to be put on a full time mon-fri…

Cutting Down Countdown
This is going to be my own little diary as I embark on a journey towards an exciting new personal & family journey. (Possibly!) Our family dream of living in the middle of nowhere is a reality, but my hubby and I both work full time and juggle a lot of responsibility at work & our two precious babies. At the moment we…

A question about sentimental items for the older os people
I'm in the process of clearing out an attic full of "stuff" and I would like advice from the older (60+) os people please. I have 3 boxes: One is old photos, a few tatty toys and a pebble and coin collection that belonged to my grandparents. One is my mothers old toys and a few books from when she was a little girl. One is…

Decluttering - alternative way, mindful accumulation?
Hi everybody, I've been trying to declutter for what seem like forever. I have Marie Kondo's book and have read infinitum worth of articles on how to minimise etc. This has been really helpful in lots of ways but it doesn't seem to have any helpful effect on what actually comes IN to my home. I have been pondering whether…

Cheap non intrusive way to make a room smell good?
Years ago I used to use Shake and Vac but the nice smell only lasted a few hours to a day and the weaker smell lasted a few days. But its £1 a pack now and I need almost 2 packs to cover my flat and if I do it every few days the cost will mount up. I also have a proper Vax carpet cleaner (got on sale reduced from £250 to…

Preparing for Summer
Hello. I don't post very often but find the Preparing for Winter threads so helpful. I go back and reread them each year with a cuppa. Anyway, I wondered if anyone would like a preparing/ looking forward to summer thread, which has its own set of new expenses and challenges. I work full time during term time but get the…
