Using one "focus" ingredient
Does anyone do this? For example - you buy a pack of leeks, you make sure that most of your meals that week contain leeks? Do you find you get sick of eating the same stuff or do you find it helpful? We seem to be wasting a lot of food lately so really trying to cut back. (Using leeks as an example as I like them but…

Uncomfortable chairs - how to improve?
We have 6 really uncomfortable pine dining chairs (table is nice) which we can't afford to replace so - with visitors season approaching - I'm wondering if there's any way I can make them more comfortable. I have seat pads on them which help a little but it's the backs that are awful - a bit too low and the wood bit that…

PI Claim passed on by Solicitor
Can anyone offer any advice? I started a PI claim with a local Solicitor who's last communication with me was that the claim had been acknowledged by the company the claim is against. I received a letter today being advised that due to 'personal circumstances' my claim was now being handled by another 'fee earner' at a…

Saving fuel

I was going to trade in my multifuel/logburner for a smaller model but instead have put a firebrick at the back and one at each side. this has reduced fuel consumption by half and we are still nice and warm and a lot cheaper than trading in the stove for a new one. Just thought I'd share. :j Any…

Would this be ok to eat?
Hi, Sorry if I come across as stupid but I'm very paranoid about food. I had a gammon joint in the slow cooker on weds and used the stock to make pea and ham soup.
