Black Friday and January Sales

Options
I hope to buy a new television but at the moment I'm in no rush. I've most of my homework done and have picked out one or two tv's that I think would suit me.

As I'm in no big rush to buy it occured to me that Black Friday (27 November) and the January sales might be the ideal time to buy but I have no experience of black Friday and was wondering at which point are you liable to get the best price.

On a realistic front what discount could you expect on say black Friday.
These are my front three runners at present
Samsung UE48H5500
Samsung UE50H6400 and
Samsung UE48H6240

These models are coming in around the low to the £550 ish mark

I'd be interested in your moneysaving ideas

You have no chance with those models. On Black Friday last year it was Blaupunt and Polaroid TV's - basically crap stuff that they had brought in specifically for the sales. Allot of this Black Friday stuff is nonsence shipped over from the States and we have now got it here. Never seen anything like it last year - disgusting behaviour by those who think they are getting a bargain when it's just tat that stores can't shift!

Best thing you can do is just wait out. There will be some good deals on offer and more often than not cash speaks very well, if you have the money in your pocket allot of them will accept a discount and you can pretty much get close to what you want.

Find a cheap deal and see if John Lewis will match it , free 5 year warranty from them

Look at using Tesco Clubcard points in any "boost" event if they do one against the price of the TV if they are competative

possibility of offers after XMAS but none on Black Friday as pointed out above

I disagree with the above two posts. Most retailers now do deals on Black Friday including John Lewis.
You can pick up plenty of different models in the sales on that day - or even the preceding week or next week. Some deals are done on the Monday afterwards as well.
Last year I had a great deal on a Samsung TV. There were plenty of offers around.

    Good luck.

No idea how this compares with the ones you mention but this one was just posted on another site as a good deal, currently £369.
