Liquid eyeliner stain on carpet

My daughters friend has managed to drop a liquid eyeliner (black!) onto her pale carpet to create a very dark stain, they've tried numerous methods to clean it but nothing has been successful as yet.. any weird and wonderful ideas out there? Carpet is not wool.

I'm probably stating the obvious, but I assume she's tried using the make-up remover she uses to take the stuff off her eyes?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Spray deodorant should get it off, but test it somewhere first just incase it leaves a mark, this will also remove any pen stains. Be very generous with it then press kitchen roll onto the carpet to soak it and the stain up.0
