Veggie version/substitute for bacon..?
Trying to cut back on my saturates intake. Any producer cracked this one yet? It's the one thing missing from my revamped full English which is just as tasty as before but oodles healthier. Sadly, I suspect that it may still be a while before anything even vaguely similar to bacon is on the market.

I've had my beloved wool coat for just over two years now, and am ashamed to say that it hasn't had much of a wash besides the occasional spot scrub! :o It's time for it to have a proper wash, as it's beginning to get a bit pongy no matter what I do! I don't want to ruin it though, and not too sure what the best way to…

Eating raw cauliflower & broccoli.
I know this sounds like a silly question, but is it safe for children to eat raw cauli and broccoli? My 10 year old loves to munch on it all the time, but a friend of mine said its not good for his stomach and that he shouldn't be eating it. She advised me to only give him raw carrots and mangetout etc if he wanted some.…

How did you learn to cook?
Did your mother or someone else at home teach you? Or school cookery lessons? Or did you work it out for yourself as you went along? I still roast a chicken the way my mother taught me. Ditto cooking veggies. But some things I've had to work out for myself (Mum never did a stir fry or made a curry for example). My…
