Cake help!
I've made a madeira cake shaped like a number two with blue fondant icing and white stars on for my sons party tomorrow but how on earth do I store it overnight. Its way too big for any kind of box I have so do I cover it with foil/clingfilm or will this make it sweat? Also I've been searching and nowhere says whether to…

About to finally buy a bread maker. What do people think of the Russell Hobbs 18036
Hello, I've been putting off buying a bread maker for a while because I thought I'd be moving at the end of January. Now that date has been pushed back until April  so I might as well buy one now. I like the look of the Russell Hobbs 18036: http://www.tesco.com/direct/russell-hobbs-18036-breadmaker/207-8614.prd But I…

I'm looking at having a go at making my own burgers and would like know if anyone who makes their own burgers uses a press, if so which one and do you rate it? I had a look on both eBay and amazon an there are quite a few budget ones but not sure to go for a metal or plastic one? Also can anyone point me in the direction…

Abbreviation YS
I thought I was quite savvy on all the abbreviations, but I noticed this one (YS) crop up a few times today and wondered what it was. I'm guessing it's something to do with supermarkets, shopping from the context of the posts I've read it in.

Reusing deep fryer oil
Does anyone know how long I can realistically keep the oil in the fryer and reuse it before it goes off? I've noticed searching online that they say it should be filtered after each use, refrigerated or frozen and thrown out after a month at most. This stuff is expensive and I only want to use it for frying a portion of…

What do you use your steam mop for?
I'm now the very happy owner of a steam mop and absolutely delighted with it so far. Its got the stains out of my rug (that had been there a while :o ) beautifully. Its risen the pile on my old stair carpet a treat. My laminate floors are spotless. The bathroom tiles gleaming and the door of my inherited oven isn't smoked…

Frozen spuds
Hi in an attempt to be economcal I peeled what was left of the spuds tonight as they were starting to turn on the spongy side. This is reality, my nose is frozen
Our income is going to dry up, so up to and after Christmas we've been trying to live on little, with every prospect of living on less than that. Now I'm practising living with no heating during the day so we don't spend more on heating than if I was out at work. That still means the central heating timer is on from…
