Can you freeze black pudding? What else can you do with it apart from grill or fry it? Any recipe ideas welcome :)

You can do a fab stew with onion, garlic, black pudding, chorizo and cannellini beans - cook them on the stove in chicken stock and a bit of passata, flavoured with cumin and smoked paprika. Chuck in some rice and there's a whole meal.

Have you tried eating it without cooking it? I think it tastes much nicer. I don't like the way many places cook it (usually hotels) so it is hard on the outside and dry in the middle.

    I prefer it 'raw'.
My mum's favourite sandwich was sliced raw black pudding and Spanish onion.

You can use it as a topping or a stuffing too.

Chicken thighs boned and stuffed with black pudding and held together with a few slices of bacon.

Hot pot topping, bruchetta topping, top tinned tomatoes with black pudding and a egg.

Stuff mushrooms with crumbled pudding and grated cheese.

Crumble it on baked beans and toast.

I eat half of it raw before I even get to cooking it LOL
  • Me and my OH love in chopped up and thrown into a omelette with bacon and cheese. It even tastes yummy on top of a meaty pizza. I do freeze mine and if I only want a few slices I heat a knife up to slice through it while its still frozen.

I quite like it made into a hash with cubed potatoes, fried or baked until crispy, some onion, black pudding and herbs. With a fried egg on top, it's lush.

If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)
  • One of my favourite meals out ever was in a restraunt in Edinburgh, can't even remember the meat but it was served with a black pudding and leek mashed potato, this must be 10 years ago and still remember it and make it to this day x
