Christmas dinner - Is this really odd?
After discussing with Mr Zaxdog about what to make for Christmas dinner we came to a conclusion. The bits we love about the meal are: roast tatties, stuffing, bacon wrapped chipolatas, veggies and gravy :D So that is just what we have decided to have. No turkey/roast/joint since it is really expensive and the bit neither…

Flies! Help!
All of a sudden we seem to have an influx of tiny black flies.. they are definitely not fruit flies (had those before and can see the difference), thought they might be fungus gnats, but we only have one pot plant which we have had for yonks without any flies, and it's rarely watered, so not waterlogged (and I bound the…

The demise of the Remoska cooker.
I has come to my notice today that Lakeland are no longer selling the Remoska. I have been a devotee for a long time and know all too well that they do not last for ever but thanks to Lakeland's unconditional lifetime guarantee I have been able to replace when necessary and continue to enjoy Remoska cooking. What do I do…

Beetroot or pickled beetroot 'pate' recipe??
I'm absolutely mad about beetroot and am wondering whether it's ever figured in anyone's home-made recipe as an ingredient for a 'pate' or sandwich spread of some kind. I'm trying to avoid meat/dairy/saturates so the possibility appeals to me. I own a very high speed blender so will definitely experiment but maybe someone…

For you menu planning lovers!
Hiya I have built up a lot of food but have a terrible habit of buying more when I don't really need to. It's also a psychological need to keep buying in order to make sure the fridge and cupboards are full :o What I want to do is use up what I already have and then get into the habit of meal planning and only buying what…
