This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Extra early post today as am up for a silly o'clock train to London and a day spent at a conference.
I won't be home until 9pm and DH has a YS pizza for dinner so should be a no spend day... unless he splashes out a big 20p on The I :rotfl:
Welcome to our new friends and to all those who read the thread but don't post, this really is a lovely thread and is a great place of friendship and support for many.
Did some online Christmas shopping yesterday with saved up Amazon vouchers. GDD wants a 3D "bendy" jigsaw of Tower Bridge. I told her I would be right by it today and she demanded a photo so I will sneak off from the conference and oblige.
One last good wish for Julie and her op today. Will be thinking about you and hope we hear from you with an iPAD update.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning all
Not frosty here today so I don't have to scrape the car!
LW, roll on Friday & the furbaby.
JO, sounds like you had fun, I can never have a drink as hubby doesn't drive.
Julie, hope the op goes ok.
TTFM, hope the conference is interesting.
Fish fed, hubby & I have a cuppa each, he's got today off as he's working Saturday.
We had a lovely time y'day with all the family at the local carvery, the DGC behaved impeccably & I recieved some lovely gifts, an illuminated Christmas house, Versace (sp) perfume, some Lush toiletries and a pair of knitties, I'll post a pic on my blog tonight. I'll also post DD's scan of the twins.
I have my appraisal at work today, not sure how that will go, still, what will be will be.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone
Good luck vibes to Julie x
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Just now getting light, looks cloudy and overcast and still wet underfoot although not raining now.
DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork - was very nice, and I got the crackling just right - much to the delight of the menfolk. Served the pork with roast pots, mash, brussels, cabbage, carrots and broccolli, yorkshires and gravy. Still have some meat left, so that will form part of tomorro night's meal. Tonight we'll be having fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg/salad.
We were very lazy yesterday and didn't really do anything except prepping, cooking and eating lunch. Hubby still got horrible cough so he just had a lazy day. Will be calling into the SM pharmacy to get some more meds today. I need to be away good time this morning as DS2 starts extra maths for an hour after school today - but it doesn't finish until 4.30pm at this time of year it's dark by then so don't want him going and returning from school on his bike so whilst he's doing the extra I'll take him.
Back to work today - I'm thinking it will be a manic Monday as it wasn't that busy last week on Monday or Tuesday - so we'll see.
Keep safe and well x

We didn't go to the Christmas market, miss tru went into town early and nipped down to have a look, she said it was heaving and people were pushing and shoving. She loves to shop (I don't) and if she didn't like it, then I'd hate it. Never mind, I've probably saved myself a furtune
I've looked almost everywhere for my blue curtains and can't find them, I'm hoping they've got mixed up with my material stash. I want to change the curtains in the bedroom but don't want to spend actual money on themThe stash needs a good sort out anyway so two birds, one stone.
Christmas is looking cheap for me. I've bought our usual stocking fillers and that's it. I've asked the other trus what they want, they either say 'dunno' or 'I'll have a think' then repeat those answers when I ask again a week later. I know what I want, if they can't decide on their things then I'll spend the extra on me

Morning all, sun trying to shine in my corner of Kent.
Off gym and swim later once I've done the post weekend tidy up. Maybe a walk along the seafront with a friend too
Starting to trickle a few Christmassy bits out, saw some lovely log reindeer at the Christmas fair we went to yesterday so planning to make a couple ourselves, they were charging £35 each!
Sweet pot and spinach curry for tea tonight.
Hugs to all who need themCarolbee0 -
Morning everyone
Lovely and bright here this morning so the washer is on ready so I can get it all pegged out.
Ds is back to school today, he still has a bad chest but not enough to warrent anymore time off school, so got thenschool run to do then a quick tidy round downstairs then I shall start decluttering the spare room, not looking forward to this as there is so much junk, luckily DH is home today to help so we should get it all done by the time school ends, then after tea I've got to sit down and sort this weeks finances out, don't think there is gonna be much left in the pot once all bills have been paid out.
Tea will be something quick and cheap tonight, scrambled egg and beans on toast, lunch for me and dh will be lo cottage pie from yesterday.
Hope you all have a lovely monday xG.C July £21.09/£1000 -
Morning all,
Good Luck to julie today xx
I am meant to be at work but feel so bad, I will have to phone in in a while, I have the most hacking chesty cough which is keeping me awake all night and a streaming nose and generally feel terrible. I hope that a day in the warm will help.
I just need to pop to the post office with some parcels we did very well indeed on ebay yesterday, so need to get them posted. And I need to do my car tax online.
Dinner will be some kind of pasta, so nice and easy.
Have good days all xx0 -

Morning all,
well Monday couldn't come fast enough for me i'm afraid. Ive been so busy I haven't known whats hit me.
Friday night was the reunion. Saturday I spent a lot of the day with my friend who was staying with me. Saturday evening we had my Grandson overnight. He's always miserable between 6-8pm so I plonked him on Grandad whilst cooking the tea. Grandbaby gave one heck of a loud scream. Hubby heard his ear pop and he went deaf in the one ear. Sounds like he's perforated his eardrum. He spent most of Saturday night complaining about the pain and not being able to hear. Still, the lack of hearing served him well in the night when it was time for Grandbabys night feeds.
Went shopping yesterday. Sunday isn't ideal to go grocery shopping but it was the only time we could fit it in.
Eldest daughter is distraught, my Brother has put Mother and a care home and wont tell any of us where she is. My Family is close... cant you tell?:o
Hubby is stressed out with work. I tried to give him a massage last night but the top of his shoulders are so tense and knotty it hurt so I gave up on the idea. I tell you, he's heading for another stroke but he never listens to me when I warn him he's overdoing it.
Jobs for today;

Not sure how many jobs i'll complete and I want to fit a [STRIKE]bath[/STRIKE] in there somewhere but we will see.
