Laura sorry to hear about your Mum. Both my Mother and hubby have had a series of strokes, it affected my Mother physically but hubby mentally (he cant remember things mainly). Thinking of you.
Julie, hope the op goes/went well.
Getting down my list of chores pretty rapidly considering I still ache from too much fun and frolics on Friday night.
Next job is to walk to the post box. No big deal, If I could see round corners I could see it from my bedroom window. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hello all,
I know you were all expecting me to be in theatre about now. Me too!
I got to the hospital at 8.30 all prepped and ready, saw the surgeon and the anesthetist and the physio, got my gown and sexy stockings on and hung around until 11 when they came to tell me that the consultant wasn't happy with the kit he had in theatre and didn't feel happy going ahead with the op:mad:
To say I'm gutted is an understatement, I was all syked up and I think hubby was worse than me.
So probably going to be January now unless they have a cancellation.
Oh hum, thanks for all the lovey messages anyway, please keep them on ice until I go back again xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Afternoon All
Julie - sorry to hear about op delay.
TTFTM - watch those city slickers don't try and take advantage of you!
Hester - I'm sure appraisal will be fine.
Judi - sorry to hear about stress being caused around you.
Snoozer - hope mum gets home soon.
Well today I feel like a millionaire! Lump sum pension arrived in bank (at long last!). The majority of it will be going to pay off our mortgage and then I will be busy investing the rest of it to provide for our holidays/treats for the next 15-20 years "Today Matthew I am the Chancellor of the Exchequer!"
Think our Christmas decorations will be going up next weekend. OH and DD are off out shopping for new lights etc.0 -
Hi everybody,
Lovely here today but a frosty start, glad I put my new welly socks on from ald! when I took the dog out early morning, brrr.
I didnt get on here at all over weekend, another one whose weekend was hectic, mainly because DiL2b went into labour on Saturday and had our new Grandson in the early hours of Sunday:j :T DS was meant to be taking DGD swimming and her staying over ,so we went and picked her up instead. We took her to a Christmas display at a garden centre, then the park, then a walk with the dog before taking her back to her mums after tea.
We picked her up again yesterday afternoon so she could see the baby, she was so excited & so were we.They kept them in hospital as he is being slow to feed and I haven't heard from Ds yet so presume they are still at the hospital. He was 7 13oz at birth and is called Freddie Jack. DGD was amazed at his little fingers
I cooked some beef on Saturday,a ys joint I got from asDa,so that has kept us going over the weekend.I'm making coq au vin with leftover chicken for tonight.
I still have to take pooch for her afternoon walk and DGDs mum has asked if I can take up the sleeves on a new coat she bought for her, theyre miles too long so I said I'd do it today.
Julie- just seen your post so edited mine to say what a shame. Its awful when you actually get there and then its cancelled.
Bitsy- nice to see you, sorry youve been having a difficult time.
Hester, glad you had a good birthday, sorry I missed it.Hope the appraisal went well today.
Hilstep-lots of hugs for you-sorry you are feeling weepy today.x
Sorry to hear about your Mums stroke Laura.Hope she's home soon.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon all,
Just popped on before finishing work and rushing to do school-run,will have a proper read through a little later.
Chilly here but the sun is smiling and the sky is pretty clear so doesn't feel so much like winter :T
Was hoping to have a NSD but then I noticed we are out of bread and yogurts for DD lunchbox, quick trip to Morrisons it is then.
Haven't thought much about dinner this evening, trying to use up bits and bobs ready for the Xmas food shop...I'm thinking jacket spuds with salad and I have 3 sausages sitting in the fridge so best use them up.
Hugs to those who are feeling down and/or ill.
XxWorking mummy to a beautiful 7 year old girlie...1 cat and 1 dog. Tired and stressed but still smiling!0 -
Julie what an absolute, stinking, rotten bummer.:( I'm sure they don't appreciate (or possibly care) about the psychological effect on patients when they summarily cancel operations like that.
Laura GWS wishes for your Mum.
Hilstep Aww, honey, I know the feeling well. You know what? Grab yourself a good supply of hankies, sit yourself in a comfy chair, and just let the tears flow. Once you're all cried out, the hurt and sadness will be washed away, and you can start to pick up the pieces and put yourself back together. Have a (((HUG))).
Bitsy good to see you posting, mate.:wave:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon All!!
Not logged on in a while, was at Wembley seeing Queens of the Stoneage on Friday, worked Saturday and busy doing house stuff yesterday.
Can't wait for this Friday, I have run out of money, so payday can't come quick enough!! Luckily got my free abel and cole fruit and veg box, so if all else fails we've got stuff to eat!
HM veggie chilli from the freezer tonight. Need to handwash some bits and pieces later and then revision and telly is on the agenda.
I've started the couch to 5k plan, had my first run yesterday and felt amazing after. Next run planned for tomorrow which should go well hopefully. Read an amazing quote this weekend which has really changed the way I see things.
'Det kjem inkte steikte fuglar flugjande i mun'
Which translates to birds fly not into our mouths ready roasted - so you can't expect to benefit from something without putting in the effort.
I want to lose weight, and I think that was the final thing to make me realise it really Is all down to me and what I do to make something happen.
Hope everyone is okay

Judi - sorry to hear about stress being caused around you.
Might give me the push I need to move to the seaside. Theres got to be a house by the sea with my name written on it somewhere.:)
Must admit, it wasn't as chilly as I expected. Probably because there was no wind. A quick trip to the post box and a quick fiddle with the honeysuckle in the front garden and I was in the house like a shot though (mainly because i'd forgotten to shut my bedroom door and Millie dog occasionally likes to wee on hubbys side of the bed. I shouldn't laugh really but :rotfl:).
All jobs completed for today apart from the tea. That can wait. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
