OS Daily Saturday 23rd November 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Still dark, but looks to be wet underfoot, although not raining now and the trees are blowing a bit too. Yesterday started off looking very dreary but the sky cleared and we had beautiful sunshine and clear sky for most of the day.
DH and DS1 up and gone to work stupid early. Hence why I'm up at this ridiculous time, DH disturbed me when he got up. So I'm now enjoying the peace with a cuppa.
Dinner last night was ham, egg and chips for the menfolk, I had ham, egg and jacket potato, ice cream for dessert. Tonight we will be having chicken fajitias (sp?) and I'll do jacket pots with them as they won't be enough on their own for the menfolk.
Was reasonably productive yesterday, carried on with the washing, drying and ironing, there's 1 more wash in the basket which I'll put on this morning, will change our bed today too. Didn't get any cooking/baking done, so will spend some time this morning doing that. I need to get some baking in the tins, as it helps so much during the week, with lunchboxes and after dinner - the menfolk all like something sweet after their dinner, I'm not bothered so can take it or leave it.
Have a good Saturday everyone x
Keep safe and well x

I have no idea what it's like outside, inside is lovely and warm though
Yesterday I managed to get my washing mostly done, and we registered Daisy. DH made HM Pizza for dinner.
Today we are trying to get ready to go to Winchester German Christmas Market. Dinner is HM Gousions with Chips and HM Tzaziki and Salsa
Tomorrow we have church!
Thank goodness for my slig, it keeps a Daisy nice and warm while we're out and about
Hope everyone has a great weekend xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Morning all
Cold and frosty here again - at least it's not raining!
Going to the Country Living fair in Glasgow this morning, I will see if I can get motivated for christmas. DD bought tickets to cheer me up and I am really looking forward to it.
Need to leave there sharp though as we have been invited to a 40th birthday do that starts at 4pm. Strange time but at least it wont be a late night. It is at a restaurant so we will be well fed.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -
Good morning everyone
Very chilly but dry here and we are forecast some bright Winter sun so I may even risk some washing on the line for a few hours.
Have stripped the bed and am getting the Winter layer out to add to the duvet. If it's too warm, I will take it out again and add a throw on top of the medium duvet. Am umming and aaahing about putting the electric blanket on too, as getting into a cold bed tends to wake me up at bedtime
My ebay free listing weekend wish came true so will be busy with that while DH is on his course today. Also have 3 parcels from last week to pack and post, so will have a little look at the charity shops and market while I am out.
Not sure if GDD is coming to stay tonight so can't decide what is for dinner until that is confirmed. Will hang around until DD decides to tell me.
Hester - I hope your DH is going to have words to get his phone number removed. What a cheek!
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning all
Fish fed, one corpse fished out the tank & flushed, hubby & I have a cuppa, I'll make breakfast in a while, porridge for me, full English for hubby
TTFM, hubby was very polite & agreed to time in lieu, but did make it plain he would not be answering his phone after work again. The excuse was 'Well it's not as if it happens regularly' to which hubby replied '3 times in five weeks is too regular for me to want to get out of bed for free!'
Had a lovely evening y'day, went to a rune reading, it was interesting, busy & a good start to for the Reader, who is just starting out.
I slept in til 7:30 so feel rested today, I have one of the DGD's coming to make a Christmas decoration this afternoon. This morning I'll go shopping for bread & squash.
Have a lovely day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Good Morning all,bit overcast and nippy but dry at least for the moment. This morning I have to go to the post office to send some stuff to my brother in France (I hate post offices all that queueing and then getting charged a fotune on top )
Then pick up my son-in-laws shoes from the cobblers for him and probably pop into see eldest DD for a cuppa.
After lunch I am off to my youngest DDs until tomorrow afternoon as its her and her OHs annual night out for his birthday on next Tuesday. They try to have a night away at least once a year on their own without the boys ,so tonight I shall be with my little guys and its 'Naughty night' so we will have fish and chips from the takeaway (special treat from me ) and I have a bag of goodies that I take round for them and we all snuggle down in the sitting room and watch t.v. and they all get lots of fussing (again from me ) and they love it.
Naughty Night with Granny is in their words Cool and lots of fun:):)I shall stay the night and come home tomorrow lunch time when Mum and Dad get back.Even the eldest Ben stays in when its N/night
:):)
My DD and her OH work so hard and quite long hours, and for them to have one night a year on their own away from everything is great, and its her way to say to her OH thank you for all you do for her and the children.
He is a real hands on Dad and they share the cooking and housework and I think it does them both good just to be themselves for a night and not just Mum and Dad.
I think Jack wants to watch the Dr Who thing on t.v. so I don't mind as I'll probably have my knitting with me.I make large cups of hot chocolate and marshmallows mid-evening and spoil the boys for a night. Not that they don't get looked after the rest of the year, but November's N/N is their treat as well:):)Mikey will probably fall asleep on my lap and in the morning they all rush into my bedroom and pile into bed for a cuddle
:)(the younger ones at least
:)
I have some wrapping up of presents to do this morning as well.So thats my weekend sorted:)
Hope you all have as much fun as I will this weekend and keep wrapped up warm
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Morning everyone,
I as on the sick and missing lists yesterdayI have a touch of tonsillitis which from past experience can lead to full on chest infections and 2 weeks off work ... Nw that I'm a SAHM I don't get that luxury so have to just get on with it. Frog had a couple of bad nights too so I was on my knees
I could only get a Drs appointment for one of us so Frog is now on antibiotics for the long standing cough she has which for a few weeks. But she did sleep last night and so did I, I feel amazing in comparison today :rotfl:
I was meant to be taking Frog to see my mum today but I think I may rope DH in to cancel for me, I will get grief otherwise. She could always come here but that's another story
Nothing really planned for today, I don't have a car for most of the day as DH will be taking it into to work and I don't feel up to a 30min walk each way into town with a buggy in the cold.
All in all a bit of a "meh" day today but perhaps it will be brighter tomorrow.
Hope you are all well and hugs all round to those that aren't feeling top notch xxWhether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
Morning all,
Looks a bit sunny at the mo
WM is on and hope to peg that out.
Off to do some shopping this morning with DH after we have dropped DS2 at work.
We are off to the Dog racing tonight, we got it through the Groupon deals, and I'm quite excited as I've never been. I must admit sport of any sort doesn't usually appeal but I'm looking forward to something I've never seen before and we get fed
Have a super Saturday0 -

Exactly the same predicament here ttftm but I guess we don't have to use the blanket if it's not cold. In my last house it was an absolute necessity but the new one is so well insulated it's hard to imagine it would be really chilly unless for some reason the heating wasn't operating.
