Old Style stalwart squeaky Book of remembrance
It's with extreme sadness that we have to report the passing of Old Style stalwart and board guide squeaky. As some Old Style board regulars may already be aware, he passed away in hospital a few weeks ago after being ill for some years. squeaky joined the MSE forum back in 2004 and kindly volunteered to help us and…

Gumtree
Hello, I'm trying to sell stuff on Gumtree and failing at the first hurdle. How, do you get to the next step after you have put your catagory in? There is no box saying 'next' or anything? I have tried pressing enter, nothing is happening! Thanks B

Hi Ladies and Gents, I want to create tasty, healthy food but I'm on a budget and I wondered if anyone could recommend any resources they use for recipes that don't cost a lot in ingredients. Any suggestions are welcome :)

Pullman Loaf Tin
I have one of these (says it is a 1000g so quite long) and I just wanted to recommend it to anyone who either bakes their own bread or attempted to bake their own bread but didn't like the result. I made a pullman loaf last night using a japenese milk bread recipe I found online. Basically 600g flour, some milk (cannie…

Stretching the store cupboard
Hi all, I have been a lurker and occasional poster here from time to time and everyone seems so helpful. So I thought this would be the best place to ask for advice. OH and I got hit by some unexpected payouts this month, meaning we cant do our last weeks top up shop. I would love it if I could have some inspiration to…

Help. Something ran in my whites wash
I did a mainly whites wash - bras, knickers and a couple of pale cream t shirts. The colour came out of one of the cream t shirts and now my bras are definitely off white. Can I rewash them using bleach or is that harmful to the material? Any suggestions welcomed.

Apologies if this is the wrong place, was umming and ahhing about this one and the gardening one! I'm growing potatoes, and plan to grow more next year if successful as they seem to be cheap and easy to grow. However as there is only two of us, and neither of us are huge potato eaters I need to know how to make the most of…

Is bleach all the same?
I usually don't buy many supermarket brands unless the quality/taste/quantity etc. is as good or better than branded products. Just find the 'saving' can be a false economy for me.. anyway, each to their own. Anyway, I have for a a fair while bought supermarket type brand bleach but I have the impression that it doesn't…

Did anyone watch Kirstie's new programme?
This was a bit better than I'd anticipated. I can't say I was impressed with the shelves made from coffee tables but that house for the Scots couple looked good when it was finished.

Camping tips...
Not sure whether there's a thread for this already? I searched but didn't find one, so thought I'd start one as we finally have some decent weather worth going camping in! :) We've been camping for years - we had a big family, it was the only affordable way to get away most of the time - but every year there's something…
