Cardboard boxes

Options
Morning!

Does anyone know where I'm likely to be able to scrounge a couple of cardboard boxes from?

Thanks :)

  • Either a small supermarket might set some aside for you, if you just ask. or one of the bigger ones in the evening when they are re-stocking shelves have those cage-type trolleys when they put the flattened boxes. Ask at customer services about 8pm.

If you need big, strong ones, either a printer/copier for flattish ones (i.e. book storage, that kind of thing) or an electrical retailer for deeper ones you can turn into a playhouse if need be!

Morrisons & Homebase both usualy have boxes out for you to take. The Morrisons ones are often banana boxes.

Supermarkets or Market stalls. Alternatively order a pen from Amazon, they pack everything in big boxes. ;)

    Thank you :)
  • I had no luck asking at supermarket customer services, they all said no for 'health & safety' Rubbish! so a friend went back and asked one of the shelf stackers directly and got given loads. Banana boxes are brilliant!

That is so true: I could have moved into one box that arrived last year! Books are packed well, but domestic items rattle around in huge boxes.

I find the fruit boxes are the best. They stack well and have hand holes an because they're shallow, you can't overload them. I found a local greengrocers was the best source as the chains seem to flatten their boxes as soon as they've emptied them. Also good for car boots and storage.

Aldi & Lidl both have boxes for customers to take away & they don't mind if you take empty boxes off the shelves (saves them doing it).
