Ive a big bag of chickpeas that need using up.
I can never get organised enough to remember to soak them overnight.
Do I need to do this? I will be cooking them in slow cooker

I always soak overnight.
Doesn't take a lot of organising just throw a handful in a jug before you go to bed.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I would recommend soaking a large quantity of chick peas overnight, then cook them up together, strain, cool and portion up in freezer bags and freeze until needed. I'm ready to be corrected but they should then be fine to reheat from frozen in a stew or whatever.0

Absolutely fine! I've been soaking, cooking then freezing dried beans and peas and then chucking them in slow cookers, stews, pan full of sauce for many, many years and I'm still here to tell the tale!Just as convenient as canned but much, much cheaper!
