Cooking stuffing in the microwave?
Basically I've run out of oven space and I haven't got any room for my stuffing. I know Paxo can be cooked in the microwave but I'm not sure if other brands can be? What I have is a box of bog standard Asda Smartprice Sage and Onion Stuffing. Doesn't say you can't nuke it (Aldi brand one does though). What d'ya reckon?

Undercooked pork - help!
I cooked a shoulder of pork this morning, juices ran clear and it seemed ok so I left it to cool on the bench. Went upstairs for couple of hours and when I came back downstairs to start making lunch, there was blood on the plate underneath the joint. Managed to get enough meat from the outside for lunch, but loads left and…

The Sewing Annexe
I've noticed there are a few of us who sew on the Old Style board and thought it would be good to have a thread where we could post pictures of our makes, help each other with questions, post links to places we have found helpful and just generally support each other. Now there is a Sewing Room on the Yuletide board but I…

Just seen in next weeks Radio Times (12 for £1), that there is a programme on Wednesday 1st Dec: Channel 4 @ 8pm, called 'The Ultimate guide to Penny Pinching'. This should suit us all down to the ground! It quotes a woman who opened 170 bank accounts for the free gifts and a man that saves £1.500 a year by eating…

A new 'tougher' thread... and so it continues
Having lurked on the 'tougher' threads this past year I have found myself drawn to MSE just to check in. The tougher threads are really the only reason why I come onto Old Style as much as I do. Unfortunately we have lost the latest instalment and I for one have missed it dearly. Is it possible to miss a thread? :o I have…

Very fussy 4 yr old won't eat much!
I know there are many threads on feeding fussy kids, getting veg into them etc, and I have been reading for hours. My 4 yr old is giving me 'mealtime battles' at the mo! When I look at her diet, she does eat more than some kids, but I am really struggling to get her to eat what the rest of us eat. She will eat virtually…

Non stick griddle - not any more
Hello  I have had my current range type cooker a few years now and over that time through (mis)use, the griddle plate has gone from non-stick to very-stick.
