Hi Can anyone give me a recipe for Savoury Rice? I love the packets from the supermarket (either to cook from scratch or the ones in the pouches that you just bung in the microwave) but surely it must be loads cheaper to make your own. Tuna in sunflower oil
Any ideas of what can be done with the sunflower oil drained off a can of tuna? I normally buy the brined one so this hasn't arisen before. It seems a shame to just throw it away, and with the dogs and the cat watching my every move, I don't think I could bear the guilt if I just poured it down the sink. (You don't think…

Carrot cake cupcakes
I want to make some 'different' cupcakes and wondered if carrot cake would work OK - I don't see any reason why it shouldn't  but have only made it as a tray-bake or loaf previously. Any favourite recipes appreciated too incl. an icing to top them (orange???) Many thanks.

I have some of both left over from Christmas (we could find the nutcrackers) so unlike the walnuts and pecans that can be cracked together they were left. Having got nutcrackers for 99p in the Lakeland sale I can now crack them without hitting myself with a hammer! Anyone have fantastic recipes for them?

I enjoyed making & baking & having a Christmas cake, but its still a bit rich for my tastes. I've seen recipes for boiled fruit cakes, do you think they would work for Christmas cake? Would they stay "up" with the marzipan & icing and would they stay fresh the way traditional Christmas cake does? Anyone tried a lighter…

Using dried chick peas
Hi there, I've done a bit of searching on this subject but there seem to be a number of different possibilities, and you can always rely on the OS'ers for the definitive answer. Clotted cream - can I use it in soup?
Ok, I am making "Cream roasted swede soup", and it asks for 142 ml of single cream, which I don't have. (It wasn't planned, I just had swede in the fridge and decided I need to use it up) I had some double cream, but that is off. There is a bit of clotted cream left and I was wondering if I can use a bit of that instead?…
