Hi , my chest freezer has to live in my dining room and its small but ugly!
i really would like to make a cover for it so im thinking a square top piece with 4 sides all sewn together to slot over the top when its not in use, i have a sewing machine and can sew in a basic fashion any tips or adcice would be really appreciated

You're right about sewing a cover, just leave plenty of seam allowance. You could pin it on with wrong side out first like you do with loose covers to make sure it fits.
Personally, I think I wouldn't make a cover. I'd prefer a loose throw which wouldn't look so 'hard' IYKWIM. Ikea often have throws/bedspreads quite cheaply.0 -
thanks, i did think of a loose throw but have 4 small kids so it would spend most of the time being dragged off to make a tent most likely
