Fantastic, cheap and tasty beef recipe
Passed on to me by a friend in the pub trade. Cost of ingredients = about £2 per serving. Cost in the pub = £12+. Ridiculously easy. People will think you slaved over it but it takes 5 minutes to prepare. http://www.buyingapub.com/beef-zingo-2/ Serve with mashed potato with horseradish sauce.

can you poach apples?
I've found a recipe for a nice winter compote which I thought would be nice to serve on Christmas morning. The recipe states to poach some pears but Ive stacks of windfall apples carefully stored and feel it would be more Moneysaving to use those. However, cant think if ever seen a recipe for poached apples and was…

Do you have a glass dining table?
I have seen a lovely dining table - black and glass - would suit my kitchen perfectly. However, the one that is on display in the store had lots of scratches on, but the sales assistant says it is just because it has been on display for over six months and that customers just are not careful with their belongings, which is…

Help - mouldy bag!
I have a hiking rucksack, you know the kind with the padded back and toggles on every corner. About 2 months ago it got put away in the cupboard, little did I know there was an orange lurking at the bottom - which has now completly disintergrated into a pile of green mouldy slime all over the inside of the bag. The bag is…

Bung it in, no prep slow cooker recipes
Hi I was wondering if anyone had any nice slow cooker recipes that don't require any precooking/frying, that you can just bung in before work in the morning when you are in a rush? I don't like to eat jar sauces, and most other recipes seem to have lots of prep or use this type of ingredient... Thank you for your help...

Beef rump roasting joint, can it be carved up and used as steaks?
I fear this might be a really daft question... M&S were doing beef rump roasting joints at half price today. Can I get my knives out and carve it into steaks to griddle medium/rare? Would that then make it the same type of meat as a standard rump steak, or does the fact that it says roasting joint make it something very…
