curried lentil soup in a jar for a gift, help please

hi i am making this, it needs dried onion, can i just dry some myself? and what about the apple?

if anyone has any other recipies like this that could give away as gifts i would appreciate them!

    I like the sound of that lentil soup:T

    I think you will need to buy the dried onion.....it used to be available in supermarkets.....I would also buy the dried apple, although you can dehydrate them yourself it is getting a little late in the day!

    Google "Gifts in a jar" and you will be well away with ideas:D

    do you think i would be able to make this for one person? as in one portion of soup per jar by just reducing the amount of ingrediants? what about the cooking instructions , says 7 cups water to make 8 cups of soup?
