Blackcurrant stain
I have a horrible blackcurrant squash stain on my carpet. Does anyone have any idea what might shift it? I fear I'll lose the bond on my rented house when I move out if I can't solve the problem! Thx in advance!

OS ms - easy crafting?
Hi Everybody I would love to start up a hobby, like cross-stitch / tapestry (something where there is an end product that I can be proud of!) The only problem is I have never done it before and don't know where to start. I don't want to spend lots of money on something that I can't do - so any suggestions would greatly…

Hello, I've been lurking for a while and was wondering..... When it comes to cleaning the house, how do you plan/motivate/ 'enjoy' doing it? Cocked up with dried sloes for sloe gin
Help!! I make a lot of flavoured boozes. My general recipe is 2lb fruit, 1lb sugar and litre of spirits. I have had many sucessses this way. BUT earlier this year I wanted to make Sloe Gin. Sloes are always really difficult for me to come by - I don't know ANY bushes near me where I can pick them so I bought some dried…

Curry
I have tried a couple of chicken curry recipes but one my husband didn't like because it was too creamy and the other I didn't like because it was too hot for my liking. I have tried combining the two recipes and although it is ok it's not the best. I have tried looking for a recipe that maybe uses natural yoghurt rather…

What's your best OS moneysaving tip?
Having learned a lot from the OS board over the last few weeks I was wondering, if you had to pick one OS moneysaving tip that's been a real help to you, what would it be? I'm on a mission to save save save so any tips are most welcome... my personal best tip has to be menu planning! I think that over the weeks that has…

mint sauce- in vast quantities
Hiya, Ive done a trawl of the OS boards, but the only recipes I can spot (pink-winged are you there, you always seem to attach really useful threads?!) involve just little bits of mint sauce at a time, (put it in gravy, smear it on lamb for the slow-cooker...) Here's my issue: For my christmas hamper challenge, I'm getting…

Cheap Shoes - False Economy?
Hi all. I've recently started spending more money on shoes, and other than the initial outlay I'm far happier with them. I thought it was OS to 'make do and mend' but with the price of shoe repair (or even home repair) is it worth it? For example. I spent £20 on a pair of New Look faux leather boots. The point of the shoe…

A Slice of Organic Life - A fab book!
I received this today, got it from The Bookpeople for £5.99 (RRP. £16.99)... it's a big hardback book full of things you can do to help the environment and live off the land. My first project is going to be to get a wormey for my garden and a water butt! Will then consider planting a small garden for veg... I can't…

Farmfoods?
I just moved to a town that has one of these shops... I'd never seen one, before. I went in to look yesterday and was SHOCKED by the prices! Wow! I'm thinking they can keep their meat prices so low because it's cheaper to ship, store, and sell frozen stuff than fresh. Is the quality OK? It's not like I buy organic…

Best tin opener
There now seem to be two basic types. The old one, which I am familiar with, cuts down into the lid. This leaves a safe rounded edge around the top of the tin and a sharp edge around the lid. However, the lid fits into the can for recycling, etc. However, I have noticed a new type, which cuts sideways into the top of the…

I am making a steak and mushroom pie, (only the filling) in the SC as we speak, I followed the receipe in the Morphy Richards manual, its been on for one hour, I had a wee taste of the liquid and all I could taste is wine, will this disappear as it cooks more,…
