Cheap Silicone Bakewear at Lidl

Didn't really know where to put this, but as it's to do with cooking/baking thought OS was a safe bet - if it needs to be moved, sorry :(

Just got my weekly email from Lidl and starting Thurs. the 18th they've got some cheap silicone bakewear on offer, including Christmas shapes - tree, santa, star etc... - for £2.99. I've got a silicone muffin 'tin' that I just love - don't know how these will be but might be worth a try!

I bought silicone loaf tins from aldi the other day and they're all well and good but went all out of shape when the bread rose - weird shaped loaves but still nice. anyhoo thanks for the info - will get some of the other tins as they'll be good for batch baking in the microwave

  • Cake was fine, i wwas watching Nigella tho & forgot about it so it got about 5 mins too long

Be very careful if you turn them over after you've turned them out cos i grabbed hold of one of the points and snapped it off  !!

My 3 yo was absolutely made up with it tho. Am tempted to make some jelly in it tomorrow.

I see some enterprising soul has grabbed a load already & stuck them on ebay

a bit off-topic but they have nice digital scales for £7.99, weighs up to 2kg.

A good buy is the chess mold set which has 3 sandwich tins for £4.99 (I have no idea if i'll ever bake anything with the mold).

Point snapped off the cake, not the pan, right?

Jelly sounds like a good idea too :T If you are tempted and create a jelly star - report please, lol.
