Cook AT HOME, for God's sake!!
Maybe there is a forum dedicated to cooking but I couldn't find it! Please feel free, M Moderator, to move this wherever appropriate. Maybe the students forum would be quite an idea... I seem to hear with monotonous regularity people complaining about how short they are of money - and then sitting down to a cosy evening…

Bad Sweet Potatoes
My biggest waste at the moment still seems to be food. I've got quite a pile of sweet potatoes that are past thier best. Now I know you can't eat normal potatoes after a while if they are green or sprouting then they contain neurotoxins but do sweet pototes do a similar thing? Are there any other vegetables that are bad…

Using meal plans
Advice on forum bascially says plan what you're going to eat and buy only what you need. 1) Do you find you stick to the plan or are flexible ? (e.g. say plan says salad on Tuesday do you have salad that day even if you don't want it and fancy something else) 2) Do you find you are able to make more meals out of the things…

Butterfly cake 'wings'..
Does anyone have any tips for getting tall domes to cut off to make the wings? Usually I make two batches of fairy cakes and cut the tops off the ones that rise well, but that's a bit wasteful and they look a bit clumsy.

slow cooker question
I have found my old slow cooker in the shed! (yippee!) no manual though and I'm confused about the auto setting. It is a cordon bleu slow cooker with removable ceramic pot and lid. I would say about 3.5litres. How does the auto setting work? I remember being confused about it last time (probably why it ended up in the shed…
