Hi I bought a rumptoft thingy in the car boot sale this morning ( I actually said to the lady as i was handing over my quid, I know I am never going to use this...). Cleaning leather bag
I own one expensive (Radley) lightish tan leather handbag, which I treated with the cream that comes with it. I kept it 'for best' for ages, and decided this year to use it. It now has distinctly grubby patches, and I assumed that I could clean it with their cream. It hasn't worked; if anything, I've drawn attention to the…

Hello :-) I am hopefully moving into my first home shortly after years of being spoilt at home. I will be trying to keep costs down as the mortgage payments are quite high and it will just be me and my cat. I was wondering whether anyone can give me any advice/ideas on how much I should budget for food/household items each…

Can OS recover my disastrous home?
I am a lover of OS philosophies, and relished buying our first home as a chance to start afresh and make some really good habits. We were (and are) quite slothful by nature, and as there is just me and my partner to worry about we tend to do as we please. But in the new house we have something to take pride in and I had…

Garlic and fruit???!!!!
Well we learn something every day. I was chatting to one of my neighbours this morning and I was saying that I bought a lot of organic apples as they were on BOGOF and now had two full fruitbowls, so I'd be eating mostly apples in the next few days as in this heat they may spoil soon. She said, "Oh no they won't if you…

Raspberry Buns
I was sure that I read something about these on here recently but have searched and can't find what I am looking for. When I was at school in the 1970's we used to make Raspberry buns in Domestic Science - they were like a cross between a biscuit and a scone and had a little blob of raspberry jam in the middle of them. I…
